MAS - Security for Multiple Microsoft Exchange Sites

When administering voice mail domains across multiple Microsoft Exchange sites, you must ensure that the appropriate permissions have been set up in Exchange administration.

Windows 2003 with Exchange 2000/2003

You must ensure that appropriate connection agreements exist between Windows 2003 domains. If you cannot open a voice mail domain, you may receive the following message.

Failed to retrieve list of MASs in the XXX voice mail domain. (80070005). General access denied error.

This is due to one of two reasons:

The MAS account does not have access rights to the Exchange site that you are trying to administer.

Note: See your Microsoft documentation for information on adding the MAS account to the Exchange site permissions.

If the Exchange sites are in separate Windows domains, a connection agreement may be required.
