A CPE MAS supports up to five (5) D/82JCT-U Digital Set Emulation
(DSE) Dialogic boards, depending on the TUI and the number of slots
available in the server. For systems that were upgraded from Release
1, up to six (6) DSE boards might be present in the MAS, if six
DSE boards were installed before the upgrade. For more information
about installing DSE boards, see the Intel Dialogic document D82JCT-Univ
(pdf).
Note: The Dialogic documentation describes more setups than
the ones used for Avaya Modular Messaging. If information in a Dialogic
document conflicts with an Avaya document, follow the steps in the
Avaya documentation. You can use the Dialogic documentation to locate
various items on the board or verify cable connections.
Two types of DSE port boards can be present in a CPE MAS:
- Dialogic D/82JCT-U — can use only a 5V bus
- Dialogic D/82JCT-U-PCI-UNIV — universal board that can
use either a 5V or 3.3V bus
To set the jumpers for a new or replacement DSE board, you must
set only the bus termination:
If more than one port board is installed in the server, set the
boards on both ends of the Computer Telephony (CT) bus for bus
termination. Use jumper P8 to set CT bus termination as
shown in the following table:
Number of cards |
P8 jumper |

only up to 5 DSE boards. |

bus termination.
