The initial networking tasks to be performed on the Message Storage
Server (MSS) are usually completed by the technician when the MSS is initially installed. See Chapter 3, "Doing
initial MSS administration," Chapter 5, "Completing initial MSS administration,"
Chapter 6, "Doing acceptance tests," and Chapter 7, "Setting up MSS support and making system backups" in the Installation and Upgrades guide (pdf) for instructions on how to perform the following tasks:
- Setting up network addressing
- Setting up the MSS local machine profile
- Setting up the trusted servers
- Placing the MSS in the Windows domain
- Performing acceptance tests
- Setting up logins and remote access on the MSS:
- Administering logins and passwords
- Activating the RMB modem (optional; for international external
modems only)
