If you access the MSS using a browser, the system requires your browser to have a security certificate to establish an encrypted, secure session with the MSS. You can accept the security certificate each time you start a browser session, or you can install the certificate for the current session and all future sessions on a computer. The certificate is required for each computer from which you access the system:
- If you are planning to use this computer to access your system on an ongoing basis, it is recommended that you install the root certificate.
- If you are accessing your system from a computer on a one-time basis, it is not recommended that you install the root certificate.
To install the Avaya Root Certificate:
- From the MSS Messaging Administration menu, in the Security category, select Avaya Root Certificate.
- On the File Download - Security Warning page, click Open.
- On the General tab of the Certificate dialog box, click Install Certificate.
- On the Certificate Import Wizard, click Next.
- Leave the default value, Automatically select the certificate store based on the type of certificate, selected and click Next.
- Click Finish.
The system displays a confirmation message.
- On the confirmation dialog box, click OK.
- On the Certificate dialog box, click OK.
