Setting up remote updates for your local system

You can set up your local Avaya™ S3400 Messaging Server to get updates from other remote systems.

To set up remote updates for your local system:

  1. Start at the Messaging Administration main menu and select:
  2. Global Administration
         Networked Machine Management

The Manage Networked Machine page displays the machines currently defined on the system.

  3. Highlight the local machine and click Edit the Selected Networked Machine.
  4. The system displays the current settings of the local machine in the Edit Networked Machine page.

  5. Specify whether the local machine is able to accept incoming updates from remote machines and send updates to remote machines:
    • Use the Updates In? field to specify whether the local machine is able to accept incoming updates. Select yes to accept updates from remote machines. Select no to restrict the local machine from accepting incoming updates from remote machines.
    • Use the Updates Out? field to specify whether the local machine is able to send updates to remote machines. Select yes to enable the local machine to send updates to remote machines. Select no to restrict the local machine from sending updates to remote machines.

Note: When you add a remote machine to the system, you specify whether each remote machine is able to send and receive updates.

  6. Click Save.

The changes are saved and the system displays the Manage Networked Machines list.

  7. Click Return to Main.
