Before you can establish a Telnet session you must configure an IP interface to allow management of the switch. Using the IP Interfaces Web page or a CLI command, create an IP interface and set the IP Routing option to either Routing/Mgmt or Mgmt Only. For more information on setting up an IP interface on the switch, see “Creating and Assigning IP Interfaces to the VLAN” in Chapter 12, “Configuring IP Routing.”
