For a small office with one or more remote branches, a G700 Media Gateway with an S8300 Media Server provides call control to G700s at the other location through a Wide Area Network. Routers connect the G700s to the LAN, with security provided by firewalls and VPN edge access.
For survivability in case the WAN connection is lost, the remote office G700 may be equipped with an S8300 configured as an LSP.
