Use this screen to specify IP addresses and (optional) SNMP community strings for any Ethernet adjuncts that are controlled by the Avaya media servers (connected to the servers over a private LAN).
A typical configuration includes one or more Ethernet switches and an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) unit for each control network. See Configuration overview for details.
The SNMP GET and SET community strings are only needed if you intend to track SNMP alarms using a corporate network management system. See SNMP operation for details.
To configure the Ethernet switches and UPS units:
Control Network A: present for all multi-connect configurations and for IP-connect configurations that use a private LAN for their control network.
Select the number of Ethernet switches. 1 is always required. 2 are present if needed to support a large number of port networks.
Switch 1 IP address: always required. Refer to your preinstallation worksheet.
Switch 2 IP address: supply if present.
Optional: enter the SNMP GET and SET community strings for one or both switches as required.
Control Network B: present only for multi-connect high- or critical-reliability configurations.
Select the number of Ethernet switches. 1 is always required. 2 are present if needed to support a large number of port networks.
Switch 1 IP address: always required if control network B is present.
Switch 2 IP address: supply if present.
