The general use for LEDs is to give a quick overall understanding of the health of the system and subsystems. When alarms or problems occur, LEDs indicate that attention by a technician is needed. LEDs are not suitable for conveying any large permutation of potential diagnostic results. Further diagnosis or troubleshooting is supported by software-based solutions that can provide detailed text explaining the error condition. Troubleshooting and diagnostic tasks can be supported by software accessed by laptops in the field or remotely from an administrator's computer.
