Avaya System Products using a Sun Microsystems Operating System:
Avaya system products include an Operating System with the product when it is delivered. Avaya Call Management System (CMS) and Avaya Interactive Response (IR) are both shipped with an operating system from Sun Microsystems. Actions to be taken on those products are described below.

Follow the recommended actions for the products listed below. This advisory will be updated as additional information becomes available.

Avaya CMS All None The Java 2 Web platform is not installed on CMS by default.
Avaya IR 2.0 Low The Java 2 Web platform is installed on IR. Using the web browser as described in the Sun alert is not a supported use. Avaya advises customers not to open untrusted applications of any kind on their IR servers.

Some customers may wish to disable Java Web Start applications from running by default. The following steps can be performed to disable Java Web Start in the Mozilla client installed by default on IR systems:

Open Mozilla
Select "Preferences" under the browser's "Edit" menu
Select "Helper Applications" located under the "Navigator" category
Under "Files types", scroll down and locate "application/x-java-jnlp-file"
Select "application/x-java-jnlp-file" and click the "Remove" button
