2. Avaya System Products with Kerberos installed on a Sun Microsystems Operating System:

Some Avaya system products are delivered with an Operating System from Sun Microsystems. Actions to be taken on these products are described below.

Product: Affected Version(s): Risk Level: Actions:
Avaya CMS R12, R13/R13.1, R14/R14.1, R15 Low CMS systems are not setup by default for use of Kerberos, so the issue could only affect a customer if they changed the default settings to include Kerberos.
Customers running R12, R13/R13.1 or R14/R14.1 should install patch 102998-33.
Customers running R15 should install patch 138731-03.

Recommended Actions:
For all vulnerable system products, Avaya recommends that customers restrict local and network access to the server. This restriction should be enforced through the use of physical security, firewalls, ACLs, VPNs, and other generally-accepted networking practices until such time as the patch can be installed.
