Individual inbound call blocking to and extension/DID
Good afternoon,
I have been asked to provide a way for calls to be blocked from calling specific DIDís. In other words, if a vendor I deal with on a regular basis happens to get my supervisorís number he would like to be able to block his call from reaching him but not block the call from reaching me.I know that the number can be blocked system-wide; I just donít have any idea how to accomplish this on an individual basis and give the end-user control of blocking the number, if thatís even possible. We are on CM 6.3 and use a mixture of 2420 digital and 9608 IP phones.Thank you in advance for any help.

I am struggling with a very similar issue. Please post a solution if you find one.

Send all incoming calls to your supervisor's DID to a vector. Using a vector routing table, routing decisions can be made based on the received CID (or ANI as the vector calls it).

Check out the sixth post in this thread for details: http://www.iaug.org/p/fo/et/thread=13409

Thanks for the help, but that is not exactly the direction I am going in. I have used both methods mentioned in that post. In my case I don't want to completely block the call and I don't know which DID the person is calling. So I want to control the call by the caller ID.

We have 2 SIP trunks that all of our inbound traffic comes through. I would like to be able to do something in our System Manager to recognize the caller ID and send the call where I want it to go.

SM doesn't route based on ANI. If you have an Avaya SBC-E, a SigMa script can be written to inspect the From header and manipulate the destination URI if a match is found. For example if From = x, then insert a * in front of the URI. Use this as a flag for alternate treatment in SM or CM based on digit mapping.
