Call Pilot Desktop Client and Office/Outlook 2013
Does anybody know when (or if) Avaya will have a CP Desktop Messaging Client that will work under Office 2013?
Our Sys. Admin has been rolling out new systems (Win7 & Office 2013) and his 'over-sight' has put us in a pickle. -Have a few McGyver ideas in mind, but really don't want to go that route... Thanks in advance. -Jeff |
Forgot to add that we are running CP 5.00.41 on a 1005r

Ever get an answer?
Was wondering if you ever got an answer to this question or figured it out.
Would like to start purchasing Office 2013 with new machines, but if CallPilot isn't going to work that could hinder things. |
I am also in the same boat. I installed 5.00.41.154 and Outlook 2013 fails to open when I try to enable the application. Hoping for a quick solution.

Design is testing Outlook 2013. But new desktop that supports Outlook 2013 is not slated to be release before Su02 for callpilot 5.1, possiblely Su03. We get better Idea once Su02 comes out in 8/2013

Are there any updates to this issue? Outlook 2013 has been out for over 8 months and no update yet?

Callpilot 5.1 desktop supports outlook 2013.
You can access www.avaya.com/espl and login and download PEP.
Got to Multimedia Applicaiton tools->MutiMedia Applications Patch Search button-> Product - enter "callpillot",-Platform enter "Desktop client"- Release enter " 05.01.02. Select CP501_Desktop_05.01.02.06. This supports outlook 2013 64 bit and 32 bit. |
Add Callpilot to Outlook?
Install worked, I can see in the system tray that there are messages to be heard. But the messages do not appear to be delivered to Outlook, and there's no 'Add CallPilot to Default Mail Profile' option in the Start Menu like their was in previous versions. Can't even add the account manually as there is no 'CallPilot Desktop Messaging' option for adding accounts.
Any direction or suggestions for how to get CallPilot to deliver messages to the inbox (either the main inbox or its own is fine, just something) in Outlook 2013 would be much appreciated. |
Any updated on this issue? I'm running Callpilot 5.1 on my Windows8/Outlook 2013 (64bit) fine. But my co-worker is running Windows7/Outlook 2013 (32bit) and it fails to lunch when you open Outlook after the installation.

Any update?
Any updates on this? This is really crippling usability for some of our users.

My company is also having issues with the version 5.01.0206. It works fine on the following:
Windows 7 Pro 32 bit with MS Office 2013 32 bit Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with MS Office 2013 64 bit But it will not work on this: Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with MS Office 2013 32 bit Using Office 32bit is Microsoft's recommendation. 32 bit Office on 64 bit Windows OS is the norm and Avaya Call Pilot is the first application I've seen not work with this setup. |
I also have Windows 7 64bit and am running Outlook 2013 32bit. In the past when I couldn't get CallPilot Desktop Client to work at times (or wanted to add a second mailbox), I would use IMAP using my DN as the username and my mailbox password as the password and it would download messages. That doesn't seem to work in Outlook 2013 either any more. I can add the account (IMAP), it tests fine in Outlook, but no messages are ever downloaded.
If an anyone gets it working (either with the Desktop Client or IMAP) with Win7 64bit on Outlook 2013 32bit or if Avaya releases a patch/PEP (or whatever they are calling them now on the new PLDS site), someone please let us know. |
Talked to a tech on the phone today and he said their is a beta that is supposed to support Outlook 2013. I was mistakenly given the 64bit version and am awaiting a download of the 32bit version to test. I will post an update when I know if it worked.

CallPilot and Outlook 2013
2 Attachment(s)
CallPilot desktop messaging client 05.01.02.06 is compatible with Outlook 2013 in either 32-bit or 64-bit versions.
The clients are available for download from the ESPL website (https://espl.avaya.com/espl) and is stored under the Multimedia Applications Tools section. If further questions, feel free to contact me direclty. For now, I hope this helps. Roger Brassard 972-745-5284 brassard@avaya.com |
I am having an issue with CallPilot Desktop Client.
I have the version suggested in the post above, but i am getting "Audio Player Only" during the install and it isn't installing the outlook portion of the client. Without this I can send faxes from the computer but I am not receiving voicemails and faxes within outlook. Any suggestions? |
I believe that I am seeing the same results as paris12. I can set up my voicemail account and see that I have voicemails via the CallPilot icon in the notification area but there are no voicemails showing up in in Outlook, either in their own mailbox or in my primary mailbox. I AM able to see my CallPilot address book in Outlook though. When I go to accounts in Outlook, there is no way to set up my CallPilot "mailbox". I do have the CallPilot Outlook toolbar/menu.
I am running Outlook 2013 32-bit on a Windows 7 64bit machine. Is their a component of the client that is not installing or is there some step or configuration that we are missing? Quote:

This is because it is not installing the mail profile piece, which is what gives the outlook integration. If you notice during install it says "audio player only", which all you will get. I would love to know if there is a way around this, or some way to get it to manually install the outlook portion. |
Is there a way (for the time being) for a user to get their faxes a different way from the BCM without using CallPilot client?

CallPilot and Windows 7/Outlook 2013
CallPilot has supported Windows 7 and Outlook 2013 for some time now.
The latest client (05.01.02.06) is available for download from ESPL. It offers both 32 and 64-bit compatibility with Outlook 2013 as well as Windows 7. The 5.0 (5.00.41) server should be updated to 5.1 for the greatest reliability and compatibility. The 5.1 update is also available for download from ESPL. No new keycode is required. I hope this helps. Please advise how I can assist further, Roger Brassard brassard@avaya.com 972-745-5284 |
I have (well had, as it is closed as of now) an open ticket with Avaya in the BCM team. My rep found out that this is a know issue with the CallPilot installer in that it doesn't not properly detect the installation path of Outlook. The rep stated a case where the OS is 64 bit but 32-bit Outlook is not installed to the Program Files (x86) path and the installer doesn't properly detect this. This fits my case were I am running 64-bit OS, 32-bit Outlook, but in my case there is another issue that Outlook is not installed on the C drive (main drive is SSD but not big enough to install all apps to).
The BCM team doesn't write the CallPilot desktop app as that is the responsibility of the bigger CallPilot team. They are working on writing a "smarter" installer and hope to test it in the next few weeks. As a BCM client, we might have access to it by April. Will post an update if I receive any more info. Also, I wonder if you can't "trick" the installer into installing the mail profile piece by temporarily copying certain Outlook files to the correct Program Files (or Program files (x86)) folder and then copying any needed CallPilot plugin pieces to the "correct" Outlook folder? Roger,
Would you mind sharing the name (and date of the file) ) we should search for in ESPL to get the 5.1 CallPilot server files for a BCM 450? I have ESPL access but want to make sure I am downloading the correct files. Thanks! Quote:

Machine 1: Windows 7 (64-bit), Office 2010 (32-bit) - install works Machine 2: Windows 7 (64-bit), Office 2013 (32-bit) - install (audio player only) I get that the latest version is supposed to address this, but it doesn't (at least not for me and some others on here). I really need a way to get this working, as I have users who are not able to receive their faxes. Thanks. |
I have a similar issue. Using Outlook 2013. Downloaded and installed CallPilot version 05.01.02.06. All works well....until 2 - 3 seconds into playing a message, the Player quits. This is both through the phone and the computer (Windows 7). Need a resolution please. Thank you.

I experienced this as well with Outlook 2013 and the new version CP5.1Desktop_05010206_full_x32. I found that the Call Pilot Extensions "Add-in" in Outlook 2013 was loading in the Inactive Application Add-ins section, messages would only play for about 3 - 5 seconds and then the player would quit. Changing the status of the CallPilot Extensions Add-in to Active by clicking the Go button at the bottom and adding a check to the box next to CallPilot Extensions solved the problem but only for that session. If I closed Outlook and re-launched, the problem returned. To resolve this I ended up noting the filename and path of the extension, going back to manage and removing the add-in, then click add and select the .DLL file again and the extension now properly loads with outlook every time. Hope that helps.

That certainly seems to work. Wonderful. I was able to find the CallPilot path, remove and re-add. I have since tested with voice messages and have sent and received faxes. I have closed and reopened Outlook a few times and have also Restarted my machine. All messages now play in their entirety. I believe we can call this solved. Many thanks.

Just so everyone knows, there is a new version of CallPilot out that actually does what they claim the last version did.
Finally working! |
I emailed the Avaya rep that had my ticket inquiring about the new client. I was given access to and downloaded the CP5.1Desktop_05010207_full_x32.exe client. I still have no Outlook add-in as an option during install. Sent a reply back to my Avaya contact and awaiting any update.
In my case I have Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit installed to the C drive. Outlook 2013 32-bit is installed to the D drive. (too small of an SSD to install all my programs to C). When running the install I only get the options of Novell GroupWise (and Add to Default Mail Profile sub-option), Internet Mail Clients (Audio Player only), and Fax (with three sub-options under fax). No option for Outlook add-in/plugin. (I do have GroupWise 8 client installed on the machine for an old GroupWise server I used to connect in to.) |
Does anyone have this issue?
For Outlook 2013 32bit running on Windows 7 64bit, the voicemails are checked using the audio player. When listening to the voicemail, it prompts to sign into the mailbox. The message will play in it's entirety. When moving on to the next voicemail, it will prompt to sign in again. They only workaround so far is not to close out of the audio player. I would expect to only get prompted for sign in if I had closed Outlook as the connection to call pilot should remain open and not depend on the audio player. |
I have another issues I'm curious if anyone is having. Outlook 2013 32 bit with Call Pilot Version 5.01.0207 and Windows 7 x64. We have Call Pilot setup with it's own mailbox in Outlook, not downloading to the users current exchange mailbox. The tif files that are downloaded, if the user looks at the previous days the files are corrupt. Reading current day fax tif files works fine.
