Caller ID forwarded on Call Forwarding
After hours, we have our phone calls transferred to an answering service. The answering service collects information about the call, including the Caller ID number of the person who called.
We recently upgraded to an IP Office 500 v2. We set up a phantom extension to forward all the calls at night. Now, the Caller ID that is received by the answering service is OUR number; not the original caller's Caller ID. Is there any way to forward the original caller's Caller ID? I found some chatter on other sites about setting up a short code for doing that, but I wasn't able to follow it exactly. Thanks. |
That is the catch with call forwarding, that the calling number is teh extension being forwarded.
I see two options: use twinning, the original calling number will be sent use a shortcode create a time profile for after hours, and in the Incoming Call route for after hours route it to the external number, selecting the passthough the CLI Refer to http://marketingtools.avaya.com/know...characters.htm |
