I've wondered the same thing. It appears that you can associate a particular extension for the purposes of reporting or terminal servers, but I'm not sure either... I am in the IPOCC lab this week...

I know this is an old thread, but wanted to post in case anyone else ran across it... you can enter 33XX in the destination and that would work, too.
