Default Web Communications - Web Chat Chrome Problem

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question, but recently one of my web developers came to me with an issue.

We implemented the Web Chat SDK 6.4 in June. Since then, we've noticed an issue with our Chrome users. Here is the description he gave me:

"When our users are using Chrome to chat with our contact center, the user has to physically click in the text area before they are able to type to the representative again. I've added javascript focus() events to the web application and it is indeed focusing on the form field as it should. However, to actually start typing, we have to physically click back in the field.
Any ideas?"

He also sent me a copy of the webchat_pop_over file that he has added the focus events to.

Can anyone help with this? Our chat is located at https://www.alaskacommunications.com...ontact-Us.aspx
If you request a chat session using Chrome, you'll be able to see the issue.

Thank you.
