My company is also having issues with the version 5.01.0206. It works fine on the following:

Windows 7 Pro 32 bit with MS Office 2013 32 bit
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with MS Office 2013 64 bit

But it will not work on this:
Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with MS Office 2013 32 bit

Using Office 32bit is Microsoft's recommendation. 32 bit Office on 64 bit Windows OS is the norm and Avaya Call Pilot is the first application I've seen not work with this setup.

I also have Windows 7 64bit and am running Outlook 2013 32bit. In the past when I couldn't get CallPilot Desktop Client to work at times (or wanted to add a second mailbox), I would use IMAP using my DN as the username and my mailbox password as the password and it would download messages. That doesn't seem to work in Outlook 2013 either any more. I can add the account (IMAP), it tests fine in Outlook, but no messages are ever downloaded.

If an anyone gets it working (either with the Desktop Client or IMAP) with Win7 64bit on Outlook 2013 32bit or if Avaya releases a patch/PEP (or whatever they are calling them now on the new PLDS site), someone please let us know.

Talked to a tech on the phone today and he said their is a beta that is supposed to support Outlook 2013. I was mistakenly given the 64bit version and am awaiting a download of the 32bit version to test. I will post an update when I know if it worked.

Default CallPilot and Outlook 2013

CallPilot desktop messaging client 05.01.02.06 is compatible with Outlook 2013 in either 32-bit or 64-bit versions.

The clients are available for download from the ESPL website (https://espl.avaya.com/espl) and is stored under the Multimedia Applications Tools section.

If further questions, feel free to contact me direclty.

For now, I hope this helps.

I am having an issue with CallPilot Desktop Client.

I have the version suggested in the post above, but i am getting "Audio Player Only" during the install and it isn't installing the outlook portion of the client.

Without this I can send faxes from the computer but I am not receiving voicemails and faxes within outlook.

Any suggestions?

I believe that I am seeing the same results as paris12. I can set up my voicemail account and see that I have voicemails via the CallPilot icon in the notification area but there are no voicemails showing up in in Outlook, either in their own mailbox or in my primary mailbox. I AM able to see my CallPilot address book in Outlook though. When I go to accounts in Outlook, there is no way to set up my CallPilot "mailbox". I do have the CallPilot Outlook toolbar/menu.

I am running Outlook 2013 32-bit on a Windows 7 64bit machine.

Is their a component of the client that is not installing or is there some step or configuration that we are missing?

This is because it is not installing the mail profile piece, which is what gives the outlook integration.

If you notice during install it says "audio player only", which all you will get.

I would love to know if there is a way around this, or some way to get it to manually install the outlook portion.

Is there a way (for the time being) for a user to get their faxes a different way from the BCM without using CallPilot client?

Default CallPilot and Windows 7/Outlook 2013

CallPilot has supported Windows 7 and Outlook 2013 for some time now.

The latest client (05.01.02.06) is available for download from ESPL. It offers both 32 and 64-bit compatibility with Outlook 2013 as well as Windows 7.

The 5.0 (5.00.41) server should be updated to 5.1 for the greatest reliability and compatibility. The 5.1 update is also available for download from ESPL. No new keycode is required.

I hope this helps. Please advise how I can assist further,

I have (well had, as it is closed as of now) an open ticket with Avaya in the BCM team. My rep found out that this is a know issue with the CallPilot installer in that it doesn't not properly detect the installation path of Outlook. The rep stated a case where the OS is 64 bit but 32-bit Outlook is not installed to the Program Files (x86) path and the installer doesn't properly detect this. This fits my case were I am running 64-bit OS, 32-bit Outlook, but in my case there is another issue that Outlook is not installed on the C drive (main drive is SSD but not big enough to install all apps to).

The BCM team doesn't write the CallPilot desktop app as that is the responsibility of the bigger CallPilot team. They are working on writing a "smarter" installer and hope to test it in the next few weeks. As a BCM client, we might have access to it by April. Will post an update if I receive any more info.

Also, I wonder if you can't "trick" the installer into installing the mail profile piece by temporarily copying certain Outlook files to the correct Program Files (or Program files (x86)) folder and then copying any needed CallPilot plugin pieces to the "correct" Outlook folder?
