Default Bluetooth on J179

Testing new J179 phone. Installed the J100 wireless adapter. I looked to ensure that the BLUETOOTHSTAT setting is set to 1 in the 46xxxx settings file. I do not get the bluetooth option in the settings menu after restarting the phone.

Anybody have any luck with this? They are cool phones and users like them, getting the bluetooth for headsets going would be score points.

Thanks

Hi, did you ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue.

Just found this

1.5. Avaya J100 Wireless Module
The J100 Wireless Module is an optional plug-in hardware module. It
provides WLAN connectivity for the J129 IP Phone and WLAN/Bluetooth®i
connectivity for the J179 IP Phone. Support for WLAN requires J100 2.0.0
software. Support for Bluetooth® requires J100 3.0.1 software.

Version 3.0.0.0.20 came out on July 10 and does not appear to have bluetooth support yet.

I also found this in the latest settings file

b. The following parameters are not supported by J169/J179 SIP R1.5.0: SLMSTAT, SLMCAP, SLMCTRL, SLMPERF, SLMPORT, SLMSRVR, USBPOWER (as there is no USB port), HOMEIDLETIME, BLUETOOTHSTAT.

Anyone find a headset that works via bluetooth without using an electronic hookswitch adapter?

I use a Jabra Stealth with my J179. On an incoming call, I get “ringing” in the headset and can answer the call by pressing the answer button on the headset. Pressing the button again disconnects the call.

I tried a Plantronics Voyager Pro UC and was able to remote answer with the headset button.

I randomly bought the cheapest Bluetooth headset I could find on Amazon as I only needed it for testing purposes - worked absolutely fine.
