Question

We try to send SNMP V3 trap from CMS to SNMP server . But , SNMP server drop the trap packet , because its authorization may be failed .
So we investigated and we checked that setting of the password , autorization method(DES etc) and user name are the same at CMS and SNMP server . Then we think that engine ID ( of SNMP V3) will be mistaken .
How to investigate engine ID was not found although we read the manual.
Please teach me how to use AOM tool to get the CMS's engine ID .

Hi,

Thanks for providing more details on query.

Please follow steps given in doc page 119 to configure it:

https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100170108

CMS MIB can be downloaded from below link:
https://support.avaya.com/downloads/...leaseId=17.0.x

If still it is not working, please open SR with Avaya so that we can look into it.

I hope it helps.

Question

Thanks .

Is engineID defined in /var/cms-net-snmp/snmpd.conf ?
(oldEngineID)

Does this value change by reboot?

Hi,

Have you got success after follwoing the steps?

That file is on /cms/net_mgmt/snmp/snmpd.conf.

Its entry will not be removed after reboot.
