Default Analog phones off G650 gateway LAN interface

We have an Avaya G650 PBX at our plant. All the lines in the plant and administration buildings are analog lines. Our plant also has an underground mine, where we have a fiber trunk running throughout with drops where we use Avaya 9608 IP phones and a few WiFi hotspots for WiFi IP phones. The trunk ties in at the surface to the G650 via a CLAN interface card. Right now, the IP phones are the only thing on this network.

My question is, there are several production areas in the mine that need phone coverage, but with the amount of equipment movement and distances moved, IP telephony isn't very practical or cost effective, so I would like to put analog phone lines to these areas. I would need some sort of gateway that I could connect to the existing IP phone network at a convienent location, then run an analog phone line from there to the production area(s). Each gateway would only need to support 1 or 2 extensions.

I do not want to go with a gateway setup that requires me to convert back to analog at the PBX. So, the general layout would be like this:

Avaya G650 CLAN --> IP Phone Network --> "Analog Phone Adapter" --> Analog phone

Thanks for any help

I would suggest you install either G430s or G450s with analog media modules (MM711, MM714 or MM716). The analog phones could then connect directly to the media modules. For information on these gateways and media modules, please see the Hardware Guide at:
