Default Avaya MS LYNC client - 2013 - no bar

Hi,

tried installing latest Communicator for Lync 2013. All looks successful until I fire up Lync. I just get a black small bar in the bottom of Lync main window, and no buttons. However the plugin does run, as it has removed video, call buttons from Lync. Have tried both SIP and H.323 .. any obvious reason why this should fail ?

Default Similar issue here

MS Skpe for Business updates to the standard Lync 2013 has broken everything. Avaya Plugin version 6.3 won't load the black mode on the bottom of the Lync client, so I updated to 6.4, which now reliably loads the add-in, but new problem, it will not connect to the 1x portal service. Fails with "Audio Device Resources are not available"? At this point I am at a loss as to figure out who broke what and where to look to fix it.
