Default Strange stack behavior

I have a stack of 5650 switches. Systems operations on the stack seem to be very slow.
For instance, a show int will move quickly through switches 1 and 2 and then become slow on switch 3. It can take as much as 7 or 8 minutes for the ports to dislplay. Once we get to switch 4, all move quickly again. Previous to this the behavior was on switch 2. I swapped it out. Now the behavior has moved to switch 3. Any ideas concerning this behavior?
