Upgrading. Some of the Partner Version manuals tell how to do SD card software upgrades through the system with the software on a laptop. Recently we have been told to pull the sd card out and do upgrades through a card reader. In the chassis allows the voice mail recordings to remain, in a card reader wipes all the greetings out and the customer has to redo all recordings. Is there a way to upgrade the software and binary files without wiping out the voice mail on the SD cards?

The best way to perform the upgrade is to use a second SD card in the optional SD card slot. Just get a blank 4gig SD card from your local computer store and put it in a card reader to a PC that has the upgraded version of Manager and go into Managers file menu and select File | Advanced | Format IP Office SD Card then after that completes File | Advanced | Recreate IP Office SD Card once the new SD card with the upgraded software is inserted into the optional SD card slot you can go into the embedded file management and under tools select upgrade binaries.
Upgrade Binaries This command is available for IP500 V2 systems that have a system SD card and Optional SD card installed. When this command is selected, all files except config.cfg and keys.txt files in the Optional SD card's \primary folder are copied to the System SD card. •! WARNING
After this command is completed, the system is rebooted. This will end all calls and services in progress. Pete |
