I have some questions about the S8300E
1. Is there any way to hook a serial cable to it to monitor the progress of the AVP installation (maybe a special cable or something) I found a reference to a special serial cable in an obscure document used for military installations because of the need to change BIOS settings for security purposes but there is no information about the cable or where to connect it. 2. Has anyone had any success installing AVP from a bootable USB instead of a external DVD drive? If so please share your experience of how you did it. Thank for any input. |

I just set my timer on my phone for 30 minutes and check if the DVD door popped open. Once that has happened i remove the USB kickstart and continue to connect to it via SDM.

That is a good question, I have also read in the MUDG that you need a special cable in order to access the S8300E BIOS. Perhaps someone will be able to answer this in the near future.

The “cables to go” part number is 02882
Use any MtoF null modem adapter If you'd like to make your own console cable see attached Avaya doc. |
