Default Last one- Release 8.0 Partner Version software bugs- fixes coming?

We installed a Partner Version 8.0 at a funeral home. The intercom page was not 2 way and the back up failed. Initial tech support told us to lower the release. We had to lower their software to Release 7.0.27. We were told there was not a good 8.0 option out there. Is that true? Why would 8.0 even be sold if there were issues? Help! This is last post, we are just a bit frustrated because we have spent hours on Partner Version bugs. Thanks.
