Default JEM24 Appearances and Autodials Not Displaying

I am using System Manager 8.1, and J179 SIP phones with JEM24 button modules. Phones are running FW 4.0.6.1.6, button module running FW 1.0.1.0.18. I upgraded phone to 4.0.13.0.6, but did not resolve issue.

The issue is, I cannot get the button module to show my autodial entries, nor bridged appearances associated with the extension logged into the phone. The button module red background is there (it's power-up), just no items displayed. I have five autodial buttons assigned on the JEM24, using System Manager. The only way I can get the entries to display is to place a check in the "Favorites" box next to the button labels form box and commit the change. A couple of minutes later, the items appear on the button module as they should. If I edit the station extension and un-check the "Favorite" box and commit, then the button module loses all entries/items within a few minutes. I've tried factory-resetting the phone, did not help. Am I missing something?
