How do I reset a norstar MICS if the config password has been changed and don't know what it is. In order to do a startup, I need the config password.

You would have to call in a case to support, and we can walk you through the process of recovering the password over the phone.

Please find the procedure to reset the password.
From a programmable phone Press: Feature ** DEBUG (33284) Password: 814200 NEXT until MEMORY DUMP PRESS SHOW enter address C01CEA PRESS NEXT to read the first 4 digits of the password display will read address: XXXX XXXX PRESS NEXT read remaining digits: XXXX XXXX Example: 0206 0603 then 0404 0F0F This config password would be 266344 (CONFIG). password 814200 does nothing on my CICS lab system...are there certain passwords depending on the release or system type?

You can either take the MICS or CICS cabinet apart and short out the capacitor on the motherboard or use Norstar Remote Utilities - Browser Tool and connect with a RAD to view the CONFIG password.
