Good Afternoon,
I am considering moving as much as possible of our PBX and ancillaries into VMware® when we move to CM6.2x. We currently have a very robust VMware® environment. Has anyone gone down this road who could be persuaded to share their experience? How much to the system (other than our G650s) can we move? CM? CMS? Modular Messaging? CMS? AES? I would certainly appreciate knowing where the land mines are.

I've done several installs on VMware with great success, including duplex CM and geo-redundant SMGRs. Not only is the deployment time much faster, but it's easier to maintain without the added complexity of System Platform on multiple pieces of hardware. Management of the VM entities themselves (i.e. snapshots, vMotion, etc.) is up to the customer.
Good info here: http://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/100167559 Aura Messaging 6.3 now supports VMware as well. Believe that was released after the above doc. |
