We have an Avaya IP Office 500 v8 system and recently bought an Avaya B179 SIP conference phone. A local supplier advised on the type of license required so we bought it.
The license is - IPO LIC R6 AV IP ENDPOINT 1 229444 The license was installed on the system but when I try to create a SIP extension I am told that ‘The number of non Avaya IP extensions configured exceeds the number licensed’ Have I been supplied with the wrong license? I'm new to phone systems so any help would be greatly appreciated. Alan |

Are you sure that you have an IP Office Release 8.0 system? The IP Office Manager application version is always 2 higher than the software being run by the IP Office it manages.
Asking becuase otherwise you are correct, the B179 has been support on IP Office since IP Office Release 7.0 and using an Avaya IP Endpoint license. |

Sorry about that ,when I had a deeper look into the Management software it says V6.0(8)
If I need V7 can my system be easily upgraded? As you can probably tell I'm not used to this system, I'm the IT support here and my boss expects me to also support all our phones as well. Thanks for your reply ![]() |
