Everyone,
The organization I am currently working for has an Avaya IP Office 8.1 system. I have never supported Avaya, I have done several other VoIP systems. I have several questions but the first one I have is how do I change the outgoing caller ID number. There is a hunt group set up using the 10 numbers provided by my cable company. When someone makes a call out the number that gets displayed is the number from the hunt group. I would like all outgoing calls to show the company's main number. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated. If you need any more information please let me know. Thanks. Daniel Krajc |

You have 10 analog lines from your cable provider setup as a hunt? If so, you can't set the caller ID as the main number from the IP Office, only the carrier could do that and they probably won't since they're coming to you as analog lines (even though they're technically SIP.)
If that's not the case, then what kind of trunk do you have? Different trunk setups have different methods of sending caller ID. |

If you absolutely want all outgoing calls to show the same main number for return calls then your first port of call should be the line provider. They can do that for you through they systems.
Otherwise, you need to get someone who knows IP Office. They will most likely add an "s" character followed by your main number to the ARS short code that controls you outgoing calls. I said most likely as a lot depend on how the system is configured, the line types, etc. Also, changing the number associated with outgoing calls needs to be supported by your line provider (else you may find calls being block as they will suspect attempted number spoofing). |

Everyone,
Thank you for the information. This helps me get a better understanding of how the system is currently working and gives me some ideas on how to make changes to the system. Daniel Krajc |
