Hi,
I am trying to upgrade a HP DL360-G7 server running R6 system platform as an LSP to R7 AVP. The server spec is: 12GB RAM / 2 x 300GB HDD / RAID 1 I have followed the document Migrating and Installing Avaya Aura® Appliance Virtualization Platform Steps taken 1. Run the HP360-G7 RAID utility - Server set to 2 x HDD RAID 1 2. Inserted the AVP 7.1.2 disk and USB stick with the completed 7.1ks.cfg file on it (FAT32) I can see on the monitor that it picks up and installs the ESXi (AVP) software but then the screen goes blank and there is no activity on the DVD / HDD / USB drives It says leave for 30 mins in the doc but I left for over 2 hrs and nothing happened Any ideas? Many thanks |

After 30 minutes be sure to check the cd tray to see if it popped out or open. if so make sure you remove the usb stick or it will not complete. I always keep a ping test going in the service port to see when the server starts responding.

though not recommended , If you know how to install VMware ESXI , then try manual/Technical mode and see if you get any error during installation.

If you haven't resolved this yet you might try a different USB stick or try reformatting the stick you have.

I just installed 7.1 yesterday in my lab for an upcoming project and with the new blue thumb drive and DVD drive the 7.1 kickstart loaded within 15 minutes on the S8300E. Had zero issues.... there is a file on the thumb drive that states you do not need to format it is pre formatted already. Makes you wonder.....

I can tell you that in my experience anytime I used the provided old style thumb drives the install would fail. Even when I used the low level format option in windows to properly format the thumb drive. I believe the issue has been a combination of the DVD drive and the thumbdrive that has caused all the headaches. I think avaya fixed that since I have had no issues recently installing 7.1
Now don't get me started on the other issues.....lol |
