Hi - I have a customer with its core in US and ESS locations around the globe. They have asked if the active SAL they use in the US can be used by Avaya globally, also if they need to register the additional System Platforms as they come online? Does anyone have any experience of this configuration?

Hello, yes a standalone SAL residing in the US can support global devices (assuming of course those ESS systems can reach the central SAL through the network). Avaya can also utilize that US SAL globally to connect and support regardless of region.
Can you clarify the question about registering System Platform? They should indeed register all devices. If the question is more about activating the embedded SAL, as of System Platform 6.0.3, you can safely disable the embedded SAL gateway and instead point the devices to a centralized, standalone SAL. |
