Default Loading Templates on "SP USB Disk"

Is there a document, that shows how to setup / install the templates on a USB drive? I can't seem to find any documentation on this. just copying over the files on a FAT formated USB stick does not work, FYI, I am trying this on an S8300D processor.

I found a document from 2009, that shows how to do it with a Linux server, is it possible to do from a Windows PC?
