I am using Avaya Collaboratory and trying to create a simple workflow that can prompt the caller and record audio. Engagement Designer has very easy to use objects to play prompts and receive DTMF input, but I can't find any way to record audio. This seems like a pretty basic telephony feature, so I'm hoping that I have overlooked something. I did find mention of this snap-in, but installing it into the Engagement Designer environment has proved quite challenging and seems to defeat the purpose of the easy to use ED tool. I was able to finally download the 3 AMR files mentioned in the release notes for Message Recording Snap-In (https://downloads.avaya.com/css/P8/documents/101021975), but the "Deployment – Avaya Message Recording snap-in" section at the bottom has stumped me. It mentions another DTT Recorder.svar that needs to be installed and I'm sure I've misunderstood some of the earlier steps in the process as well.
Can anyone answer whether there is an easy way to record audio in ED, or if this is the correct tool to do that job? If this is the right tool, can anyone provide some very detailed instructions on where to acquire the necessary files and install them so they can be easily used in ED like the other basic telephony functions? Thanks! |

ander548,
Sorry you are having issues with Avaya Message recording snapins. What Avaya lab are you using? We are currently working to provide an answer to you questions and provide you with procedure steps to follow to resolve your import wave file issue. |

Record audio in 3 steps in ED
1)Example: create the “Test-speech.wav” using the location http://www.text2speech.org/ from internet. 2)Place the “Test-speech.wav” in /opt/avaya/app/localmedia of the Avaya Aura Media Server. 3)Put the wav file in Engagement Designer as “file://Test-speech.wav” in our Play Announcement task.you can refer the attached screen shot. |

I understand how to PLAY audio to the caller. I am wanting to record audio FROM the caller. It appears you have a Message Recording Snap-In (linked above) but I can't figure out how to implement it, and I want to know if that is the best approach. Other basic telephony features are built in to ED (play prompt, get dtmf input, etc) but there is no way to record audio FROM the caller.

Message Recording snap-in is currently not supported in the Collaboratory. It will be supported in Collaboratory 4.0 which will go GA in the latter part of July, 2016. You will have to wait until then to get your lab upgraded to 4.0 and be able to use the Message Recording snap-in.
