Default HELP with Re-recording voicemail message

Hello, we're a small business and had a technician come out and set-up an Avaya 1416 telephone system and at the time he had us record a message that would play when nobody could answer the phone after about 40 seconds.

We've tried to re-record this message through the greeting settings and have had no luck with this changing. Is there anybody who could help us with re-recording this message?

1416 is the type of phone and they have been supported on a number of different Avaya telephone systems. If you could describe what options are shown on the phone's idle display, it may be possible to work out what type of telephone system you actually have. Otherwise, your best bet is to get someone from the same company as the original technician to assist.
