We have remote agents that use a 9608 ip phone which is establishing a vpn connection to our firewall at the head office where the IPO is sitting at. The question is, can the ip phone share the vpn connection to a laptop that's plugged in to it? Is there any other settings that need to be done on the phone to allow the vpn connection to be shared on another device thats connected to it. We have a local server sitting at our head office that needs to be accessed by the remote agent and that is why we need their laptop to be on the same subnet to act like their internal. We need to have their vpn ip phone to share its vpn connection to the laptop so it can acquire an internal ip.
Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks. |

Any input through the PC port is not routed through the VPN tunnel.

we have a similar situation with remote agents working from home. I stumbled across by accident where the agent plugged their computer cable into the second port on the phone and was able to connect to the Internet. I agree with the earlier comment that the computer and phone can't share the VPN, however the user will or could access the internet by connecting their computer cable into the second port of the phone.
