Good Afternoon,
I have 2 demo phones J169 and J179. I have switched them to H.323 by going into Settings and Signaling. When restarting the phone, I get the message "Waiting for DHCP...". I checked Settings - IP Configuration and the phone is getting the correct information. Thank You. |

Try turning off DHCP for IPv6.
Settings > Administration > IP Configuration > Ethernet IPv6 > Use DHCPv6 |

What system are you connecting to?
IP Office? Do you have the Avaya Deskphone H.323 6.8.2 Software for the 9608/9608G/9611G/9621G/9641G/9641GS and J169/J179 files in the primary folder? "Waiting for DHCP" is kind of a false progress message from these phones, I've watched activity in Monitor while a J phone is connecting. This message usually means that it HAS acquired an address through DHCP and is waiting for is actively downloading firmware files. |
