Does anyone know how to clear all the System Manager (v6.1) Alarms in bulk (from Element Manager - generated by Session Manager). The only option appears to be acknowledging, then clearing 100 (max) at a time.
This is painfully slow when there are 17000+ alarms generated due to a faulty switch..... Last edited by bugs1; 04-13-2011 at 07:31 PM. |

At present, the alarms can be acknowledged and cleared in sets of 100. This is a limitation in System Manager but at the same time, its a cautious decision. Deleting all alarms at the same time may also delete critical alarms which may require investigation and troubleshooting.
Request you to firstly: For SMGR 5.2 > Admin page > Monitoring > Logging > Acknowledge all Critical Alarms > Clear critical alarms (if all is good) For SMGR 6.x > Admin page > Events > Alarms (Read the alarms) > Logging > Acknowledge all Critical Alarms > Clear critical alarms (if all is good) Then go ahead and clear other alarms. If you insist to clear all alarms at once, then it has to be deleted using a SQL query in the postgres database. This is a data sensitive activity and has to be only caried out through an Avaya Support Engineer. Please create a case with Avaya support. |

Thanks,
The total alarms got to 58000 , so it isn't possible to clears these manually in blocks of 100, so will take your suggestion and delete cristical alarms, and then get Avaya to clear the rest. |
