Product: AAEP 6.x.x, AAEP 7.x.x.

This should work for most versions.

Please Note: The process to boot into single-user mode to reset the 'root' password may not work for AAEP versions 7.2.x. You may be prompted for the current 'root' user password for maintenance before you can enter single-user mode. If the password is unknown, you will be unable to log in.

On the root login, the Avaya First Login Experience will run forcing the user to set the boot loader password and to change the root and cust passwords. The default passwords for 'root' and 'cust' accounts are 'rootpw' and 'custpw' respectively.

If EASG is enabled for challenge & response, an Avaya engineer will be able to log in to the Command line with 'craft' & elevate to 'sroot'. Then the 'cust' & 'root' user passwords can be changed. See Solution # 2 in the article linked below:

https://support.avaya.com/ext/index?page=content&id=SOLN268468

If EASG is not enabled, the 'root' password is unknown, and you cannot boot the server into single-user mode, you will need to re-install the server and restore from backup to restore 'root' access.

Problem Clarification

We are unable to login to AAEP through the webpage and CLI. Customer checked all configuration and everything was properly set.
