Problem Clarification

Not able to manage trusted & identify certificates of the Secondary SMGR server from Primary SMGR after upgrading to 8.1.3.1

From the primary SMGR Inventory > Managed Elements screen, there is this error:

Error while communicating to element smgr02.xx.yy  Secondary. Please verify that element is up and running" and  "Error while communicating to element null. Please verify that the element is up and running” 
  

 

 

Cause

Product defect introduced in  8.1.3.1
Issue observed on HF1 that is 8.1.3.1.1 (SMGR-59276)
 

Solution

This issue is fixed in SMGR 8.1.3.1 HF2, ETA for the HF2 is available by end of May.

Can apply the below workaround :
  1. Take Secondary VM snapshot
  2. Login to Secondary SMGR web console
  3. Activate Secondary server
  4. Then Manage Secondary Trust store to add CA/Inter CA certs into Secondary trust store and replace ID certs
  5. Restart JBoss service
  6. Verify certs
  7. Deactivate Secondary server
  8. Verify Secondary server.
  9. From primary server perform Restore Data by selecting Primary server data in GEO page.
  10. Enable GEO from primary server.
  11. Delete Secondary Server VM snapshot.
