Problem Clarification

The customer has a Distribution List (DL) or group email address configured for a mailbox. They are using Microsoft Graph API (MS Graph) to handle synchronization, but voicemails are failing to deliver to the users' email inboxes.

Cause

The Avaya Messaging Microsoft Graph (MS Graph) integration does not natively support or process synchronization for Distribution Group email addresses.

Solution

When a customer must use a Microsoft 365 Distribution Group email address for voicemail delivery, the standard MS Graph synchronization engine cannot be used. Instead, the solution is to utilize the VPIM/SMTP Forwarding feature within Avaya Messaging.
