Troubleshooting Inbound Call Failures from AT&T Wireless Networks

Problem Clarification

Users may experience an issue where inbound calls originating specifically from AT&T Wirelessnetworks fail to connect or reach the platform. Affected extensions do not ring, and external
callers using AT&T mobile devices are unable to complete calls to platform numbers. Other service functionalities typically remain unaffected, pointing to a localized inbound routing problem.

Cause

The primary root cause for this behavior is a service degradation or localized outage within the underlying carrier infrastructure. When a major network provider experiences routing anomalies or infrastructure failures, calls directed from that carrier to the platform's numbers cannot be correctly handed over or processed through standard telephony routing paths.

Solution

Since the root cause originates outside the customer's on-premise network and internal platform configuration, resolution relies on carrier-level restoration. Standard support and verification workflows should be followed:

Step-by-Step Resolution & Troubleshooting Workflow:
1. Gather Call Samples: If the issue is reported as ongoing, collect fresh call samples from the administrator to isolate the failure. These must include:
○ Calling Number (the AT&T Wireless device number)
○ Called Number (the internal platform extension/DID)
○ Precise Date and Time of the failed attempt
2. Carrier Intervention & Monitoring: Track network advisory notifications from underlying carrier operators. Once the upstream provider isolates and corrects the carrier-level routing outage, service functionality will automatically stabilize.
3. Verification: Place test calls from an external AT&T wireless device to the affected platform inbound numbers to confirm that audio, signaling, and call routing paths are fully restored.
