    attendant answer 1st ?

Hello, I am by far no expert with IP Office or Voicemail Pro, our office is using Voicemail pro client 6.1 and currently if someone calls the main receptionist number it will ring like a normal phone about 5 rings and if the receptionist doesn't answer it will go to an attendant recording, "sorry we missed your call, dial your extension or 0 for the front desk"

My question is.....is there some way to make the receptionist phone not ring when someone calls and just go straight to the attendant recording and if they want to talk to the receptionist then they hit 0 and then the receptionist phone will ring?

I simply don't have a clue how to do this.

    Thank you

You would set the Incoming Call Route to go the the automated attendant instead of the Receptionist phone.

How to do that? Unfortunately, things can be programmed a million different way in IP Office. The incoming call may be routed to a hunt group, with the Receptionist's extension as a member, and a cover to voicemail with a Leave action to point to the auto attendant.

Or the group may overflow to another group that has a single phantom member forwarded to a short code that invokes the auto attendant.

Or a bunch of different ways.

Start with the configuration, and the Incoming Call Route and follow the flow, to see where you need to intercept it and get it to the auto attendant first.

so I'm in the reception incoming call route under the "destinations" tab and in the destination drop down I see all the extension numbers and at the bottom I see "DialIn" and "VoiceMail" would it be one of these two?

      Thank you

Go to the "Destinations" tab, press F1 (Help) and read.
