Body

The VSP 7k does not need to be powered down before a power outage. However, If a power outage is anticipated, a manual backup of the configuration is highly recommended prior to the outage.
Please take a copy of both the binary and ascii configuration. This is to make sure, we are fully equipped to handle any issues that may arise due to the outage.

Copying the binary configuration to a TFTP server:
Procedure:
1. Enter Privileged EXEC mode:
enable
2. At the command prompt, enter the following command to copy the running configuration to a TFTP server:
copy config tftp address {<A.B.C.D> | <WORD>} filename <WORD>

Copying the running ASCII configuration to a TFTP server:
Procedure:
1. Enter Privileged EXEC mode:
enable
2. At the command prompt, enter the following command to copy the running configuration to a TFTP server:
copy running-config tftp address {<A.B.C.D> | <WORD>}{[module <value>] | [verbose]} filename <WORD>
