Solution

  • Time and date keeping features are only available on the 22-button Built in Speaker (BIS) Display telephone, 34-button BIS Display telephone and the Merlin II Display Console. All Merlin systems can use any of these telephones
  • The time-keeping features of the display unit allow you to set an Alarm, Clock, Calendar, and Timer

Setting the Clock and Calendar:

To set the Time, Day, and Date on the Display Screen on a BIS set (not an Attendant Display), you need to be at that particular telephone:

Note: When you press the Set button the first time, you will see the word Alarm in the display screen.

If the Alarm is not to be set, press the set button two more times until just the hours and the 'A' or 'P' (A - AM, P - PM) are flashing in the display window. If you do not need to set a particular item, press Set to bypass it.

  1. Press Set until the item you want to change flashes
  2. Press Fwd or Rev to advance or reverse the Time, Day or Date
  3. When you have the correct Time, Day or Date, press Set. This enters your selection
  4. If you only want to set a particular item, such as Time, Day, or Date, press Exit after programming it
  5. If you have programmed them all (Time, Day and Date) you just press Set not Exit. If you pressExit, you will see four zeroes in the place of the Date. This is for the Timer. Press Exit again to display the corrected Time, Day and Date

To set the Time, Day, and Date on the Display Screen on an Attendant Display, you need to be at that particular telephone and:

  1. Press the Clock Functions button. This button is located as the top button on the second long row of buttons looking right to left. The green light next to the button will turn on
  2. After you press Clock Functions, the words Timer, Alarm, and Set will appear in the display screen above buttons on the display. Press the button directly below Set
  3. After you press Set, the display will now show the words Time, Day, Date, and Exit. To change the Time, press the button directly below the word Time. If you wish to change the Date, press the button directly below the word Date. To change the Day, press the button directly below the word Day. If you wish to exit, press the button directly below Exit
  4. If you press Time, the display will now show the words Hour with arrows pointing up or down, and Minute with arrows pointing up or down. To change the Hour, press the button directly below the Hour Up or Hour Down word to display the correct hour. To change the Minutes, press the button directly below the Minutes Up or Minutes Down word to display the correct minutes. When you have the correct time displayed, pressExit.
  5. If you press Day, the day on the display will change. Continue to press Day until the correct day is displayed on the screen. When the correct day is displayed, you may press Exit or press another function button
  6. If you press Date the display will now show the words Month with arrows pointing Up or Down and Date with arrows pointing Up or Down. To change the Month, press the button directly below the Month Up or Month Down button until the correct month is displayed. To change the Date, press the button directly below the Date Up or Date Down until the correct date is displayed. When you have the correct date, pressExit
  7. When you have the correct time, day, and date displayed, press the Clock Function button and turn the green light off. Your clock should now be correct

  1. Press Set; the current Alarm status will flash on or off
  2. Press Fwd or Rev to change the status
  3. Press Set and the Hours for the Alarm will flash
  4. Press Set again to set the minutes
  5. If you are only setting the Alarm, pressExit.

A little bell will appear to notify you that the Alarm is set and active.
