VROP003

Alarm level

Minor.

Description

A card was unable to perform a voice coding or playback request made by the system. The code or play request failed. This normally happens when the system is overloaded; that is, the total amount of coding or playback being attempted for all channels on the system is more than the available card or cards can handle. In this case, most requests will be completed. Only requests that fail will generate a message. Each time a failure occurs, one message is generated.

The impact may be significant if the message occurs more frequently than the currently set threshold limit. In that case, you will see a threshold message similar to the following one:

** THR003 -- -- -- The first threshold level for VROP_NOSPBUF exceeded. 20 messages have been generated in the last 1 minute.

The threshold limits and message priority in this example reflect the default values for this thresholded message.

Repair procedure

To correct the problem:

  1. If you have multiple NMS cards, go to the Display Equipment screen (Configuration Management > Voice Equipment > Display Equipment) to check the state of cards.
  2. If you have a single NMS card and the card is not in service, all voice coding and playback will fail.

  3. If a card is not in service, try to restore the card, or contact your Avaya support representative.
  4. See Restoring cards and channels for more information.

  5. If all cards assigned are in service, reduce the load.
  6. See Managing IR system performance for more information about assessing and reducing load.
