Fax administration screens

You can choose either the FAX Actions screen or the Fax Header screen to administer the fax feature.

FAX Actions

The FAX Actions screen presents instructions for accessing the FAX Actions menu. From the FAX Actions menu, you can choose fax loading, fax printing, and fax queue management items.

To access the FAX Actions screen, do the following:

1. Access the Avaya IR system for a command-line interface.
2. At the command prompt, type fax_admin, and press Enter.

The FAX Actions menu is displayed on the screen.

3. Select FAX Transmission Control to manage the fax queue, or select FAX Loading and Printing to view and print a received fax.

Note:
An application that uses the fax feature must be assigned to the specific channels or groups that have fax resources enabled.

Fax Header

The Fax Header screen lets you to choose header text for faxes sent by the Avaya IR system.

The current header name is displayed when you first select Fax Header from the Fax Administration screen.

Note:
If you want to use the Current Fax Header, navigate to another screen without clicking any of the buttons on this screen.

To change the fax header:

1. Select a Fax Header.
2. Click Submit.
3. If you chose none or default, the browser displays the names of the current fax header and the new fax header.
• To accept the new fax header, click Submit.
• To pick a different header, click Cancel. Return to Step 1.
4. If you chose custom, enter the New Custom Header Text on the screen that the browser loads.
5. Do one of the following:
• Click Submit if all the information is correct.
• Click Reset to blank out the New Custom Header Text.
• Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.
