Configuring DEFINITY for VoIP

The DEFINITY switch must be configured so that there is an H.323 trunk between the switch and your Avaya IR system. See "IP Networking Administration" in DEFINITY� Enterprise Communications Server Release 10 Administration for Network Connectivity, 555-233-504, for information on how to configure the swich.

When creating the signaling group, nominate the Avaya IR system as the far-end node and add it to the node-names list.

On DEFINITY switch make the following settings on the signaling-group form:

• LRQ Required? to n
• RRQ Required?" to n
• Calls Share IP Signaling Connection?" to y

You'll need to remember the far-end listen port you specify (try 1999) and the IP address of the C-LAN card in order to configure the Avaya IR to use VoIP.

For the Call Bridge feature to work with VoIP:

• The switch must have R10 or later system software.
• On the switch, Supplementary Service with Rerouting must be enabled on the QSIG Optional Features page of the system-parameters customer-options form.
• The trunk-group and signaling-group forms must have the Supplementary Service Protocol field set to b.
