VoIP Parameters Display screen

Use this screen to display configuration parameters for the selected VoIP card.

Parameter descriptions - common parameters

Parameter

Description

Card

The card number used by the virtual VoIP card.

Card Name

A unique name for the card.

Card Enabled

If set to y, the virtual VoIP card instance will process calls. Otherwise, all calls on VoIP channels will be rejected.

Card IP Address

The IP address assigned to the NIC used by the virtual VoIP card to connect to the packet network. Multi-homed Avaya IR machines will have more than one IP address. If the Avaya IR system interfaces with a DEFINITY or MultiVantage system, the IP address here should be the same as the one you specified for the IR system on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage IP Node Names form.

Protocol

The type of protocol, either H323 MultiVantage Trunk or H323 MultiVantage Station.

Gatekeeper IP Address

The IP address of the Gatekeeper that is configured to accept registration requests from the virtual VoIP card. If a DEFINITY or MultiVantage system is functioning as the Gatekeeper, the IP address here should be the IP address assigned to the Node Name that represents the C-LAN card on the IP Node Names form in the DEFINITY or MultiVantage system.

H.323 Gatekeeper Port

The UDP port that the Gatekeeper uses to accept registration requests. Usually set to 1719.

Low RTP Port

The lowest UDP port on the Avaya IR system used for RTP communication.

High RTP Port

The highest UDP port on the Avaya IR system used for RTP communication.

RTP Packet Size

The RTP packet payload size in milliseconds for outgoing calls.

G711 A Law Codec Enabled

Coding selection for audio media. Must be set to n.

G711Mu Law Codec Enabled

Coding selection for audio media. Must be set to y.

RTCP Monitor Enabled

Enables sending copies of RTCP packets to a VoIP Monitoring Manager. If set to y, monitoring is enabled. If set to n, monitoring is disabled.

RTCP Monitor IP Address

The IP address of the RTCP monitor to which copies of RTCP packets are sent.

RTCP Monitor Port

The UDP port used by the RTCP monitor to receive copies of the RTCP packets.

Parameter descriptions - trunk parameters

When the H.323 trunk protocol is selected, the following parameters apply.

Field

Description

Signaling Group Count

The number of signaling groups that are active when the H.323mvTrunk protocol is in use.

Signaling Group 1 Port

The H.225 port on the Avaya IR system for the first signaling group. The number must match the value of the Far-end Listen Port parameter on the Signaling Group form for the corresponding signaling group on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage.

Signaling Group 1 Maximum Channels

The maximum number of channels that the virtual VoIP card may use on the first signaling group. Should match the number of ports that are controlled by the first signaling group and are members of the trunk to the Avaya IR system on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage.

Signaling Group 2 Port

The H.225 port on the Avaya IR system for the second signaling group. The number must match the value of the Far-end Listen Port parameter on the Signaling Group form for the corresponding signaling group on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage. Even if the port is not used, the default setting (0) should be in place.

Signaling Group 2 Maximum Channels

The maximum number of channels that the virtual VoIP card may use on the second signaling group. Should match the number of ports that are controlled by the first signaling group and are members of the trunk to the Avaya IR system on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage.

Signaling Group 3 Port

The H.225 port on the Avaya IR system for the third signaling group. The number must match the value of the Far-end Listen Port parameter on the Signaling Group form for the corresponding signaling group on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage. Even if the port is not used, the default setting (0) should be in place.

Signaling Group 3 Maximum Channels

The maximum number of channels that the virtual VoIP card may use on the third signaling group. Should match the number of ports that are controlled by the first signaling group and are members of the trunk to the Avaya IR system on the DEFINITY or MultiVantage.
