For each incoming call, the VoIP subsystem selects the first VoIP channel that is in the INSERV state, that is free, and that belongs to the signaling group used by MultiVantage to deliver the call to the Avaya IR system. The search starts from the first VoIP channel within the signaling group. For outgoing calls, the VoIP subsystem does not select the Avaya IR channel. Instead, the call control application placing the outgoing call selects a free channel and then places the call through the VoIP subsystem.
The number of channels available for VoIP operations is determined by how the VoIP feature is configured on the Avaya IR system. Built-in rules limit the number of possible configurations. Following these rules supports accurate reporting of VoIP operations.
